KOME-NO-MEGUMI means the blessing of rice. Rice has been the staple food of Japan since antiquity. Komenuka candles are made with rice bran wax instead of bees wax which is not native to the city of Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan where the candles are made.

Takazawa candles' flames are bigger and brighter than other companies. The flame comes from a special wick made from a unique recipe dating back to the 16th century, and it is the symbol of ancestral wisdom. At a time when there were no electric lights, a lot of thought was put into making candlelight brighter. The wick is made from plant-based materials such as dried rush and washi-paper.

Candles sold in packs of 14. Sold separately from iron candle holder.
